Artist’s Notes:

I chose a vagabond thief who is sneaking away into the woods carrying a cache of stolen swords. The thief is wearing a tattered cloak giving the exterior impression of desperation yet hidden beneath the cloak they have expensive colorful gloves on. This tension between wealth and poverty offers a nod to the idea that sometimes you must exploit the system you live in to move beyond desperate circumstances. The castle’s inhabitants look down from their high hill. Traditionally this card represents betrayal, lies, deception, theft, and criminal intelligence. Reversed this card indicates you may have been caught and the truth of your behavior exposed, it can mean a jail sentence served or can mean betrayals you’ve endured yourself has made you untrusting of others.

LOVE: You must be vigilant that you may be with someone who is being untrue.

HEALTH: This card advises you to seek a second opinion in case your symptoms are evading detection.

MONEY: You should be aware someone near you may be deceiving you to enrich themselves.
